We got our garden all straight this evening. We planted all the seeds we bought. We are hopefully going to have watermelons, tomatoes, sweet peppers, acorn squash, cucumbers, lettuce, spinach, carrots, beans, and peas. I have been out of action for most of this last week with the flu. I got bit bad, by the flu bug that is! I felt like I was coming down with something on Monday, but assumed it was just a cold. Today I got the first Life of Fred book called Fractions. I am eager to read it and am hopeful that it will be a good book to read with H. He is very practical, and so I see that the only way for him to learn math is by actually using it. I will post my thoughts as I read through it.

Today we had a halloween party to go to. While we were there we found a walking stick. It was really cool. A lot of the kids wanted it to climb on them. It seemed to really like hair because it seemed to climb up every kid towards their hair. H didn't really want to have it on him. I just seem to get so busy and forget to post. I have been slipping a little bit in my unschooling mindset. I am anxious about our upcoming vacation and am a little stressed so I think I am partially reverting back to the old ways. This is beautiful Maliha with her mom Ellie. I can't remember how much Maliha weighs but she is doing very well for a 14 month old elephant. She had the worst itch while I was watching her. I will have to post some pics of her scratching herself on the tree stump. She was a joy to watch. I had a great day interacting with the public last Sunday!

Today we went on a field trip with some other homeschoolers to Cici's pizza. It was fun. All the kids got to make their own pizza, and not a little one but a big pizza and pick what toppings they wanted to put on them. They got to see behind the scenes in the kitchen and the pizza ovens.
