Bank picnic

I had to work on Hunter to get him to pose with the Easter Bunny at one of our neighborhood bank's picnic this afternoon.  The bunny was actually shorter than Hunter but it stood on a curb to make itself taller.  Hunter was mad that the curb didn't show in the picture I took, oh well.

Speech and volleyball

Today Hunter gave his speech about kids and video games and how much he likes them.  I didn't get to see him give his speech but I heard that he did a great job.  It was about how good video games can be for your brain for learning for multitasking and for attention spans.  He also talked about how video games don't make kids violent.  If kids grow up in a violent home or neighborhood that is more likely to be the reason for their violent tendencies. Then later we went and we played volleyball at the gym.  I'm pretty sure Hunter had a great time.  Not the best picture but it was a fun afternoon.

Awesome DNA

This is one piece of awesome DNA!  The sequence of nucleotides codes for AWESM amino acids.  It was a fun project we did in our biology class last week.  This is the keychain Hunter made.

Freedom!

We went to Forest Park this afternoon. It was lovely.  We hung out with our SLHN friends and talked about the challenges of homeschooling with a job.  I passed up a great opportunity to see if anyone might be interested in talking and learning more about starting a sudbury school.  Oh well maybe next time.

A little bit of sunshine

Hunter and I were cleaning sticks out of the yard to get it ready to mow and found these.

long time, no see....

Wow, it has been a long time since I posted here.  I think this was an experiment to see if I had blogging in me. I think the verdict is out on that one.  It is neat to see all the posts on here, I wish I could somehow take them with me, or put them somewhere else.  Not sure how to do that so I guess I just need to breath new life into this blog.
Hunter just turned 13 yesterday! whew, he is now a teenager, and I can hardly believe it.  This last year has had ups and downs.  Hunter went and toured and shadowed at a new charter school that is devoted to the arts.  He really enjoyed the day he spent there, but it was the kids he really connected with not the school.  He shadowed back in January and just last week he finally decided that he doesn't want to go to school.
